ANZAC Soldier study: Robert Frederick McClymont

Surname: McClymont

Date of Birth: 25 February 1894
Place of Birth: Northcote, Auckland
Places Lived: Northcote, Auckland

Date of Death: 14 December 1917
Buried: Aeroplane Cemetery, near Ypres, Belgium
Parents: Robert McClymont, Sarah McClymont.

He enlisted in October 1916 and fought in the New Zealand Machine Gun Corps.  He was killed in action in France on 14 December 1917.  
McClymont's family came from Northcote and his father later moved to Albany where he grew strawberries.  It is likely that McClymonts Road in Albany is named after the family.
